On 23-24 February 2026, Mr. Chayoot Homdee, community Development Officer and Ms. Thorfan Dechachainimit, project coordinator were invited to join the academic seminar on “Sharing employment of persons with disabilities in the public sector” at Graph Hotel, Huay Kwang, Bangkok. The two-day event aimed to share the work of each sector in promoting disability employment in Thailand. Representatives across sectors shared their experience for a comprehensive understanding of the situation on disability employment. Sharing good practices and openly discussing challenges is essential to identifying gaps in disability employment and driving meaningful improvements. The event was organized by Social Innovation Foundation (SIF).
There were approximately 170 people attendees on day one and 100 on the second day. Participants from the government sector, private entities, and organizations of persons with disabilities shared working experience of people with disabilities. This event also partners with Disability Support Services (DSS) from each Universities, Thai Health Promotion Foundation, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Bangkok Metropolitan, Ministry of Transport and more of States sectors who hire persons with disabilities, ensuring effective collaboration across sectors.
The afternoon session on both days includes multiple Workshops on Disability awareness, exchanging, connecting between persons with disabilities and employers from each company together with DSS, and evaluation after employment to enhance the practicality of disability employment. The seminar marked a significant milestone in promoting collaboration to promote disability employment.
