APCD has performed a significant role to connect between Disabled’s Peoples International (DPI)-Korea and Thailand’s Dulabhatorn (DBF) to promote disability inclusive development in Chieng Mai Province.

DPI-Korea Representative observed the meaningful activities of DBF serving the children with special needs and their parents at DBF office.

Three partners visited the pre-school center at Pang Ma O village, Mae Tang district where the DBF has project to promote early childhood development for a Karen ethnic community.

Mr. Youngwook Kim, Secretary-General, DPI-Korea explored for the feasibility on promoting inclusive golf at the Jackie Park Golf & Resort in Chiang Dao District.

Representative of DPI-Korea visited the office of Healing Family Foundation to observe the weaving activity (Saori) of children with special needs and power of family group.

The meeting among stakeholders was convened with good collaborative atmosphere. Representatives from community, service providers, parent group and volunteers participated this important meeting.

APCD has performed a significant role to connect between Disabled’s Peoples International (DPI)-Korea and Thailand’s Dulabhatorn (DBF) to promote disability inclusive development in Chieng Mai Province.
The consultation meetings among stakeholders and field visit program at sites of potential areas were conducted. Mr. Youngwook Kim, Secretary-General DPI-Korea introduced key activities including inclusive golf (golf sport which persons with disabilities can enjoy), Adaptive Bingo game to the DBF staff members and children with special needs at the office.
DPI-Korea Representative has observed the meaningful activities of DBF serving the children with special needs and their parents. Three partner organizations visited the pre-school center at Pang Ma O village, Papae sub-district, Mae Tang district where the DBF implements a project to promote early childhood development for a Karen ethnic community.
Since DPI-Korea would like to promote inclusive golf in Thailand, they also explored for further implementation at the Jackie Park Golf & Resort in Chiang Dao district.
On the last day of the mission, the meeting among stakeholders was convened with good collaborative atmosphere. Meeting attendees included the representatives of DPI-Korea, DBF, APCD, community, service providers, parent group and volunteers. Though this was the beginning of consultation meeting among stakeholders, however the meaningful collaboration to promote better quality of life of children with disabilities will be initiated concretely in Chiang Mai Province soon.
