Dr. Tej Bunnag, the president of the APCD Foundation, and Mr. Piroon Laismit, the executive director of the Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD), took center stage at the prestigious "Thailand Friendly Design Expo," , on December 8, 2023

Dr. Tej Bunnag, the president of the APCD Foundation, and Mr. Piroon Laismit, the executive director of the Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD), recently took center stage at the prestigious "Thailand Friendly Design Expo," a renowned event held towards the end of this year. The expo served as a platform for promoting inclusivity and innovation, with a particular focus on enhancing accessibility for persons with disabilities.

One of the highlights of the event was the active participation of the APCD60+ Bakery & Chocolate café, where an array of bakery and beverage products crafted by individuals with disabilities was showcased. The offerings adhered to the high standards set by Thai Yamazaki Co., Ltd., highlighting the exceptional talents and capabilities of persons with disabilities in the culinary arts.

The overarching theme of the event aimed to drive Thailand towards becoming a model for inclusivity in various domains. The vision encompassed transforming the nation into a hub for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) that caters to everyone, fostering tourism that is accessible to all, promoting friendly design principles, and establishing itself as an international medical hub city with a commitment to leaving no one behind.

Looking ahead, anticipation is building for the 7th Thailand Friendly Design Expo in 2023. The upcoming exhibition promises to be a spectacular affair, showcasing, selling, and promoting a wide array of products, innovations, and services related to health, wellness, tourism, hotels, MICE business, and friendly design. The event is scheduled to take place from December 7th to December 10th, 2023, at Hall 100-101, spanning an impressive 12,000 square meters at the BITEC Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangna, Bangkok.

With its commitment to inclusivity and innovation, the APCD's active participation in the Thailand Friendly Design Expo underscores the importance of creating a society and business environment that caters to the diverse needs of all individuals, regardless of ability or background. The forthcoming expo in 2023 is poised to be a milestone event, further propelling Thailand towards its goal of becoming a beacon of accessibility and inclusivity in the ASEAN region.
