The Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD) organized a “Cooking and Financial Management Training” to empower participants with practical vocational and life skills that can contribute to sustainable livelihoods and independent living.
The event was warmly welcomed by , Executive Director of APCD. The program was officially opened by , who emphasized the importance of equipping both persons with and without disabilities in APCD programs with essential skills relevant to today’s rapidly changing world.
The financial management session, titled “When Sales Grow, Manage Your Money Wisely,” was conducted by . The session provided practical knowledge on budgeting, income and expense management, saving strategies, and long-term financial planning through easy-to-understand and applicable guidance.
In addition, a hands-on cooking workshop featuring Onigiri, Seaweed-wrapped Rice Balls, and Lightly Sweet Jasmine Green Tea was led by . Participants learned about ingredient selection, preparation techniques, serving presentation, and step-by-step cooking practices in an engaging and interactive learning atmosphere.
This initiative not only enhanced participants’ vocational competencies, but also strengthened their confidence, financial management mindset, and life planning skills—important foundations for improving quality of life and promoting sustainable and inclusive development.
