On 23-24 February 2026, Mr. Chayoot Homdee, community Development Officer and Ms. Thorfan Dechachainimit, project coordinator were invited to join the academic seminar on “Sharing employment of persons with disabilities in the public sector” at Graph Hotel, Huay Kwang, Bangkok. The two-day event aimed to share the work of each sector in promoting disability employment in Thailand. Representatives across sectors shared their experience for a comprehensive understanding of the situation on disability employment. Sharing good practices and openly discussing challenges is essential to identifying gaps in disability employment and driving meaningful improvements. The event was organized by Social Innovation Foundation (SIF).

There were approximately 170 people attendees on day one and 100 on the second day. Participants from the government sector, private entities, and organizations of persons with disabilities shared working experience of people with disabilities. This event also partners with Disability Support Services (DSS) from each Universities, Thai Health Promotion Foundation, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Bangkok Metropolitan, Ministry of Transport and more of States sectors who hire persons with disabilities, ensuring effective collaboration across sectors.

The afternoon session on both days includes multiple Workshops on Disability awareness, exchanging, connecting between persons with disabilities and employers from each company together with DSS, and evaluation after employment to enhance the practicality of disability employment. The seminar marked a significant milestone in promoting collaboration to promote disability employment.

On Monday, 23 February 2026, Ms. Siriporn Praserdchat (Logistics Officer) represented APCD at the Associated Event under the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) 2026 entitled “From Global to Regional to Local: Follow-up to the Second World Summit for Social Development – Building Societies for All Ages in Asia and the Pacific.” The event was organized by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) at the United Nations Conference Centre, Bangkok.

The international conference aimed to advance the implementation of the Doha Political Declaration in Asia and the Pacific by translating global commitments into regional and local action. The programme featured an opening session delivered by H.E. Ms. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Executive Secretary of UNESCAP, and Mr. Kantapong Rangsesawang from the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS). It also included two panel discussions led by Dr. Srinivas Tata, Director of the Social Development Division, ESCAP and Michacia Friberg-Storey, UN Resident Coordinator in Thailand on bringing together key stakeholders from governments, the United Nations, civil society, and communities across the region to promote dialogue, knowledge exchange, and strengthened partnerships.

There were more than 60 participants from multiple stakeholders, including MSDHS, the ASEAN Centre for Active Ageing and Innovation (ACAI), government agencies related to social development, representatives from universities, the Ministry of Public Health, and overseas government officials from the Philippines and Indonesia.

This event represents an important step toward building inclusive societies for all ages through regional collaboration and shared commitment.

On Saturday, 21 February 2026, APCD was invited by the Foundation for Children with Disabilities (FCD) to organize inclusive sports and games at its annual event, “Happiness Day for Children with Disabilities and Their Families 2026.” This meaningful activity marked the 12th consecutive year of the Foundation’s commitment to promoting inclusion and strengthening family bonds within the disability community.

APCD, led by Ms. Siriporn Praserdchat (Logistics Officer) with team members include Ms. Supaanong Panyasirimongkol (Networking & Collaboration Officer), Mr. Chayoot Homdee (Community Development Officer), Ms. Thorfan Dechachainimit (Project Coordinator, Disability-Inclusive Employment and Business (DIEB), and Ms. Vasuthida Pinrattana (Part-time Logistics Coordinator).  The Booth’s activities were also joined by Ms. Prim Kaewpradab, International Relations Officer and Mr. Warit Payaksiri, Assistant International Relations Officer from Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disability (DEP).

The event provided a joyful and supportive platform for children with disabilities and their families, highlighting the family’s role as the foundation of development. Around 300 participants attended and enjoyed recreational games, creative workshops, and family-centered activities promoting happiness and positive relationships.

Activity booths, including a Dodgebee demonstration and a lucky game, added to the festive atmosphere. Children also received gifts after participating in the games, creating a warm and lively environment throughout the event. On this occasion, APCD booth also received an appreciation certificate in recognition of its contribution and participation.

On Friday, 20 February 2026, the organization conducted an internal capacity building training session on the topic “Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)” at Northgate Hotel.

The session aimed to enhance staff members’ understanding of personality differences and to strengthen collaboration within the workplace through the application of MBTI principles. There were 16 staff from Administrative, Community Development and Information & Knowledge Management Department joined the training which also in included training resource person, Ms. Supaanong Panyasirimongkol (Officer, Networking & Collaboration), Ms. Thorfan Dechachainimit, (Project Coordinator, DIEB Project) and Ms. Vasuthida Pinrattana (Part Time-Logistics Coordinator CBID Excellent Hub)

The program began with a welcome address by Mr. Somchai Rungsilp (Manager, Community Development Department), followed by an introduction of the facilitator and an overview of MBTI and its key concepts by Ms. Supaanong. Ms. Thorfan then delivered a session on “What is MBTI in Detail”, Ms. Vasuthida elaborated on each MBTI personality type and group discussion session..

Participants engaged in interactive activities, including identifying their MBTI types and participating in group discussions. They completed the MBTI assessment via mobile phones and later reflected on their results. The session concluded with practical guidance on applying MBTI in the workplace, particularly to enhance communication, teamwork, and understanding of diverse working styles.

The training concluded with an engaging Q&A session and a summary of key takeaways. This activity not only strengthened self-awareness among staff members but also promoted mutual understanding and positive collaboration within the organization. The knowledge gained from this session will contribute to fostering a more supportive and productive working environment.
